title: Backbone of AI - Data Centre Revolution
description: Data centres are specialised facilities essential for storing, processing, and managing vast amounts of data, making them the backbone of AI infrastructure. They power AI's explosive growth across industries like autonomous vehicles and healthcare by hosting massive datasets and performing high-speed computations. The surge in investment is fueled by AI's integration into every sector, the rapid expansion of cloud computing, and the exponential increase in global data generation. Tech giants like Microsoft, Google, and Amazon are leading investments, with billions allocated for new and expanded data centres worldwide. These facilities require cutting-edge hardware like Nvidia H100 GPUs, advanced cooling systems, and consume significant energy, driving up costs. The data centre market is poised for rapid growth, projected to reach $416 billion in revenue in 2024, with an annual growth rate of 8.45% through 2029.
