title: Meta launches Llama 3
description: "Last week, Meta released the first version of its large language model (LLM), Llama 3. This is the LLM that powers Meta AI. Zuckerberg referred to it on an Instagram post saying, “With this new model, we believe Meta AI is now the most intelligent AI assistant that you can freely use”. Meta shared on a blog post that its latest models had “substantially reduced false refusal rates, improved alignment, and increased diversity in model responses”, as well as progress in reasoning, code generation, and instruction. Meta hopes that in the near future it can make Llama 3 multilingual and multimodal, have longer context, and continue to improve its overall performance across core LLM capabilities such as reasoning and coding. \n\n\nSource: https://www.businessinsider.com/meta-releases-latest-ai-model-llama-3-2024-4"
