#### [What happened after a 5% Nasdaq drop?](https://blog.syzgroup.com/syz-the-moment/what-happened-after-a-5-nasdaq-drop?hsLang=en)

Interesting stat by Donald Dean @donaldjdean on X ➡️ what happened after a 5% Nasdaq drop? The verdict: a quick bounce, then a retest Thursday’s 5.52% decline marked the Nasdaq’s eighth drop of more than 5% since 2015. Here’s what followed the previous seven: • The next day: 6 of 7 rebounded. • One week later: 5 of 7 were lower. • Three months later: 6 of 7 were higher, with an average gain of 23%. A small sample, but a reminder: an initial rebound doesn’t necessarily mean the selling is over.

#### [Was the post-election rally a bull trap?](https://blog.syzgroup.com/syz-the-moment/was-the-post-election-rally-a-bull-trap?hsLang=en)

When news broke that Democrats had won both the House and the Senate, futures initially fell. Then the S&P 500 rallied, closing up 1.56% on Wednesday and adding more than $1 trillion in market value. Yesterday, the picture changed sharply. The index fell 3.84% in the first 90 minutes of trading, erasing roughly $2.7 trillion in market value and more than reversing yesterday’s gains. The reversal raises a question: did Wednesday rally give larger investors an opportunity to reduce their positions before the selling resumed? Source: Bull Theory
